All the Doctors and Nurses work to an appointment system. Demand for appointments has increased over the years and we are constantly looking into ways we can improve the way we work. Appointments can be made either by phone between 8.00am to 6.00pm on 01642 210220, in person at the desk, or online for telephone calls (login to SystmOnline). Polite reminder 8.00am calls are for emergencies only; you may be offered a routine appointment depending on the nature of your call or navigated to an external service.
Online Appointments
If you are a registered patient with our practice, you can now book your appointments online. To sign up for online services we would need a form of ID or for you to confirm all of your details recorded on the system correctly, if there are any discrepancies you would be required to provide ID. It’s as easy as that!

Routine GP appointments
These appointments are for non-urgent routine matters and management of long-term problems. They are available throughout the day and can be booked in advance.
The receptionist may offer you a telephone appointment first if you feel your problem can be dealt with over the telephone, alternatively please ask the receptionist for an appointment to come into the surgery and see a Doctor. You can also book a telephone appointment online with a GP of your choice, availability depending.
Drs Sabir and Kesavalu and both work full time, Dr Ashfaq and Dr Tola both work part time. If possible, it is best to see your usual doctor for all non-urgent problems to ensure continuity of care.
Sick children under 5 will have an appointment the same day.
Please let us know in good time if you need to cancel your appointment. Another patient may need to be seen urgently. Repeated failure to keep appointments may result in you being removed from the list. We allow a ten-minute grace period if you are running late but it will be up to the GP or Nurses discretion if you will be seen.
Remember, your appointment is for 10 minutes and we can only deal with one (or two small) complaints properly in this time. If you have more than two issues to discuss with the doctor, please ask for a double appointment.
Occasionally surgeries may be running late for reasons beyond our control. Please be patient if you have to wait; it is difficult to assess how long each problem will take.
Please be reminded we have a zero-tolerance policy and do not accept any abuse of any kind; this includes verbal abuse to staff.
Same Day Appointments
Every day, Monday to Friday, we have an “on-call” doctor. They have appointments which are available to be booked on the day and are intended for patients who have a condition which cannot wait until the next day. If you require a “same day” appointment and there are no appointments left, the receptionist can check availability in the out of hours service for you or care navigate you to an external service depending on the nature of your call if it is deemed to be a routine or ongoing issue. The doctor may be able to offer you advice over the telephone or alternatively, a face-to-face appointment will be booked.

Home Visit
Home visits are strictly for physically housebound patients.
Patients should make every effort to come to the surgery where we have a full range of facilities available.
We are able to see 4 patients in the surgery in the time it takes for one home visit. If you feel that a home visit is necessary, it is important that you telephone the surgery before 10.30am selecting option 2 when calling.
You will be asked to give a few brief details of the illness to the receptionist so that the doctor can assess the urgency of your request. The doctor will always ring you to clarify whether a visit is necessary.
We will take calls for all emergencies at any time.
Please note that transport difficulties cannot be regarded as a reason for a home visit.
