Dr Saleem Sabir
MBBS (Lahore, Pakistan 1989)
BMed Sci, FRCS (1994), MRCGP
English, Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi and some Arabic
Dr Sabir is a male GP Partner. He qualified in Lahore Pakistan in 1989 and has worked in the UK since 1991. He has previously worked as a Surgeon both in General Surgery and Orthopaedics. He provides General Medical Services and in addition has particular interest in providing assessment, treatment, and advice in Musculoskeletal problems. He does joint injections, minor surgery and cryotherapy for warts and small skin lesions. Dr Sabir leads on respiratory care within the practice.
Dr Madhu Kesavalu [M]
MBBS (Madras, India 1998)
English, Urdu, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi
Dr Kesavalu (Dr Madhu) is a male GP Partner. He qualified in Madras India in 1998. He enjoys working with people and likes to spend time with his family and weather permitting country walks! He provides General Medical Services and in addition has a particular interest in paediatrics. Dr Madhu has taken the practice lead in Coronary Care and Child Health Surveillance.
Dr Kanza Ashfaq [F]

Dr Ashfaq is a female part-time GP. She qualified in Lahore Pakistan in 2012. Newly joined the practice in 2021.
Dr Omotolani Shittu [F]
MBBS (Ibadan, Nigeria 2013)
English and Yoruba
Dr Shittu is a female part-time GP. She qualified in Ibadan, Nigeria in 2013. Newly joined the practice in 2023.
Administrative Staff
Practice Manager
Jayne Henderson looks after the overall running of the business side of the practice and would be pleased to help you with any administrative problems, queries, suggestions, or complaints.
Reception Supervisor
Carla Stone is responsible for the whole admin/reception team and all aspects relating to the daily running of reception.
Senior Administrator
Linda Ozelton looks after summarising, post-natal checks, and administration.
Reception Staff
The reception staff are your link with the rest of the practice. They will try to help you with your enquiries, repeat prescriptions and appointments as efficiently as possible. They are trained to do a difficult and demanding job and may need to ask you some medical details to help the rest of the team to work effectively. They work under the doctors’ instructions. The more clearly you explain your problem the better we can help. Please help them to help you.
Secretary
Carla Stone is our Practice Secretary, she oversees all referrals and deals with the majority of correspondence between ourselves and any Secondary Care Service such as the Hospitals.
Nursing Staff
Practice Nurses
Jacqueline Bullen and Carol Tranter are our Practice Nurses and Janette Osborne is our Healthcare Assistant. They are available by appointment for nursing advice and chronic disease management. They can provide various treatments such as dressings, blood tests, treatment of minor injuries, immunisations and are undergoing additional training to be able to offer more services.
District Nurses
The district nursing teams provide advice and nursing care to the housebound, chronically, or terminally ill. They can be contacted via the receptionists.
Health Visitors
The health visiting team are not based at the surgery but can be contacted via the receptionists.
Midwife
The midwife provides care for all our mothers during pregnancy and in the postnatal period. She holds clinics Tuesday and Wednesday each week via an appointment made by reception staff. You can leave a message by contacting the Community Midwives Office at the James Cook University Hospital on 01642 850850.
